The United States Environmental Protection Agency is authorized to set minimal standards for all lead based paint abatement, inspections, risk assessments and renovations. This includes establishing training and certification requirements and work practice standards for individuals and firms engaged in those activities and developing hazard standards. Cornerstone Training Institute is accredited by the EPA for Lead Abatement Worker, Supervisor, and Lead Renovator.

Painting Wall

Lead Safety for Lead Renovation, Repair and Painting (RRP)

This course is for anyone who may be doing any renovation, repair, painting or remodeling for compensation in a pre-1978 homes. In 2010 the United States Environmental Protection Agency promulgated the RRP final rule. Under this Federal law anyone engaging in the above activities will have to receive training by an EPA accredited training provider.

Lead Based Paint Abatement Worker

This 16-hour initial training course meets EPA’s training requirements for individuals who wish to perform abatement. Lead abatement is an activity to reduce levels of lead, particularly in the home environment, generally to permanently eliminate lead-based paint hazards, in order to reduce or eliminate incidents of lead poisoning.

Lead Based Paint Abatement Supervisor

A certified Supervisor can perform all of the duties that a Lead Worker can, and additionally a Supervisor is responsible for occupant safety during the abatement process and for writing the abatement plan. The course focuses on essential abatement procedures including site preparation, contract planning, project management, abatement implementation and record-keeping. This workshop prepares you to apply your knowledge to the field, with extensive hands-on training and real-world examples from experienced instructors.

EPA LEAD SAFETY FOR RENOVATION REPAIR & PAINTING (RRP)

The Lead Renovator RRP Initial Training is an 8-hour course covering proper procedures when dealing with lead-based paint in renovation, repair, and painting projects. Anyone working for compensation in residential housing or in a child occupied facility built before 1978, must be trained and certified.

EPA/HUD LEAD ABATEMENT WORKER

Lead abatement is an activity designed to permanently eliminate lead-based paint hazards. Abatement is sometimes ordered by a state or local government, and can involve specialized techniques not typical of most residential contractors.

EPA/HUD LEAD ABATEMENT SUPERVISOR

Lead abatement supervisor training teaches supervisors how to manage lead abatement projects, which are designed to permanently remove lead-based paint hazards.

EPA/HUD LEAD BASED-PAINT INSPECTOR

This course will teach the legal and technical issues and obligations facing inspectors when inspecting for lead hazards, to determine whether or not lead-based paint or other lead hazards are present in sufficient quantities to require abatement according to regulatory guidelines.

EPA/HUD LEAD RISK ASSESSOR

The Lead Risk Assessor training course provides information for those individuals who wish to perform lead-based paint Risk Assessment or Lead Hazard Screening services. A risk assessment is an on-site investigation to determine the presence, type, severity, and location of lead-based paint hazards (including lead hazards in paint, dust, and soil) and provides suggested ways to control them.
